Daily Schedule
Parents, grandparents, and other relatives are invited to participate in program field trips, assist in the classroom, and attend special events. You and your loved ones are always welcome visitors in the school and have access to your child at any point of the day. Below is a sample daily schedule.
7:30-9:30 AM Drop-off Time & Outdoor Play – children hang their belongings in their cubbies, wash their hands, and say goodbye to their parents. Children join outdoor play with their core group and get fresh air! During this time classes may adventure out for a run in the neighborhood, care for the garden or otherwise enjoy our outdoor spaces.
9:30-10:00 AM Morning Snack – children work as a team to clean up before choosing a snack to enjoy. Free Play is an option for children who finish early or do not want a snack.
10:00-11:30 AM Core Group Time – this includes indoor and/or outdoor free play, circle time, gatherings, classroom activities, field trips and individual/group instruction. Please reference the calendars and daily schedules of your child’s classroom for more details!
11:30AM-1:00 PM Lunch Time – lunch can occur at any time within this time frame depending upon the classroom and the daily activities.
1:00-3:00 PM Free Play & Rest Time – children solidify morning discoveries through free play inside and outdoors. All children engage in at least a 30-minute quiet time during this period.
3:00-4:00 PM Afternoon Snack & Free Play – children select a snack and join their friends to eat. Children who do not wish to participate in snack time have the option of free play.
4:00-5:30 PM Outdoor Time – children engage in outdoor play and parents pick-up their children.
We ask that you send two garden snacks and two protein snacks in addition to your child’s lunch each day for a morning and afternoon snack. This would be a fruit or vegetable (something grown in the ground or from a tree) and cheese, or meat, etc.. Parents must provide a nutritionally balanced lunch with a reusable water bottle, napkin, and utensils for their child. A full water bottle every day encourages good hydration, and with help from the teachers, we will take water breaks often, no matter the season! Teachers eat with the children and serve as role models for healthy eating. Each classroom also engages in cooking and baking projects on a regular basis. We believe that sharing food is a great community builder!
